We are excited to be offering kindergarten through grade 6 educators who are members of AFT Connecticut-affiliated local unions professional development on the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). This engaging new workshop is an opportunity to align teaching by reasoning, analyzing and synthesizing evidence to construct explanations of core science and engineering ideas:
WHEN: Wednesday, October 16 from 5:00 to 7:00PM.
WHERE: The Soifer Conference Room on the second floor of AFT Connecticut union headquarters, located at 35 Marshall Road in Rocky Hill (plenty of free parking available).

The presenter is our own Meriden Federation of Teachers local union member Maura Graham-Vecellio. She will “walk through” tasks for workshop participants appropriate for K-6 students to to help them become familiar with performance expectations.
