Although the 2016-17 education budget seems firm at this point, teachers are encouraged to remain engaged until the process concludes on May 16.

Here is a breakdown of various meetings leading up to that date:

Monday, May 2 starting at 4:00 PM in the CHMS auditorium – BFT General membership and Executive Council meeting (run concurrently). Items to be discussed include the budget, the insurance plan, officer elections (uncontested) and revisions to the BFT constitution.

Wednesday, May 4 starting at 7:00 PM at Central Office – regularly scheduled BOE meeting.

Tuesday, May 10 starting at 6:45 PM at City Hall – brief Joint Board meeting (Board of Finance and City Council). This will be immediately followed by the City Council meeting at 7:00 PM.

Monday, May 16 starting at 5:30 PM at City Hall – Joint Board meeting to vote on final 2016-17 budget for entire city (including education).
