We are getting down to the wire on SB 380, which will decouple our student’s SBAC scores from teacher evaluation. Our legislators need to hear from you! Many are in favor, but the governor has promised to veto this bill, so we need to make sure that we have enough votes to override any veto (We need about 101 votes in the house and 24 senators). Even if your rep or senator is on board, please contact them again. The session ends May 4th!!SB 380 does not eliminate the SBAC test. SBAC will still be administered and those results will be used to measure aggregate school and district performance, which is appropriate. SB 380 simply removes the results from teacher evaluations.
YOUR LEGISLATORS NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU. Politicians are hearing from the corporate special interests that are spending millions of dollars trying to advance their own agenda. It’s up to us to make sure they hear the voices of those who know best: Connecticut’s teachers.

to e-mail your State Senator and Representative and tell them why SBAC does not belong in our evaluation. Ask them to support SB 380 and to co-sponsor the bill. Thanks!!
