Both the Hartford Courant and Bristol Press have articles on the Board of Finance workshop where the 2014-2015 Board of Education budget was presented. The proposed addition of full day kindergarten is a separate budget item, to be considered in addition to the regular budget. Both drew scrutiny from city officials.

The nine-member finance board will begin paring the spending requests at its March 31 workshop. BFT members are encouraged to attend. It may hold further workshops.

The finance board plans to adopt a tentative budget on April 22. It would be approved at a joint session with the City Council on May 19.

Members of the Board of Finance and their email addresses are listed below. BFT members are encouraged to contact them and express support for the proposed BOE budget.
