Dear Brothers and Sisters,

 I am writing to personally let you know that yesterday I announced to our Executive Board that I will not seek re-election.  I have had the privilege of serving as president for the past 25 years and will step down at the Connecticut AFL-CIO’s 10th Biennial Constitutional  convention in September.

 I am reaching out to you to let you know of my decision because you are important leaders in our movement.   I know many of you personally.  As a movement, we have worked side by side to fight for workers’ rights and for an economy that works for all.  Even though I will not seek re-election, I will continue to be active in the community and will continue to help advance the interests of working families.  I look forward to seeing you at the upcoming convention and to crossing paths with many of you in my future endeavors.

 Thank you for all your support over the years and for all that you do every day to build the Connecticut labor movement.
