Senate Bill 24 (the education bill proposed by Governor Malloy) is currently under review by the Education Committee, who have until March 28 to make modifications before bringing the bill forward to the General Assembly, who will be in session until May 9. All BFT members are urged to contact their own local legislators as well as members of the Education Committee (see below) to express their thoughts on how to best close the achievement gap in Connecticut schools. Tell them about the time you dedicate to your profession, the effort you put into improving your craft, and the conditions under which you work each day. And since this is an election year, tell them you’ll be watching to see how they vote on this legislation.
